Best British Plays

Written by on | Best Of / Lists

From Shakespeare to Stoppard, the British have for generations been creating brilliant theatre. A number of the greatest plays of all time are British and as an actor you are almost expected to have read most of these plays. We have listed some of the best British plays from throughout history, as well as from varying genres. Hamlet is William Shakespeare’s most well known play and is the tragic tale of Prince Hamlet. The Importance of being Earnest is one of the most clever comedies ever written. Pygmalion is also a comedy, though it is a deeply political play.
